Experienced Gardener
📍 Location: SE Highfield Calgary
💰 Pay: $26.50–$30/hour (based on experience and capability)
📅 Seasonal Position: April – October 2026 (weather permitting)
⏰ Schedule:
• Typically 7:00 AM start
• 6 days/week during spring, early summer & fall
• 4–5 days/week mid-season
* Start times may be later in early spring and late fall due to daylight conditions.
* Finish times typically range between 4:00–6:00 PM depending on workload, season, and daylight.
* Hours are seasonal and not guaranteed.

About Geradina
Geradina Professional Gardeners provides high-end residential garden maintenance for discerning homeowners across Calgary.
We focus on quality, not speed — we are not a production landscaping company. Our work is primarily ongoing garden bed maintenance, including weeding, pruning, deadheading, and detailed plant care, along with seasonal planters, seasonal planting, and softscape enhancements as needed. Some minor mowing may be required, but it is not the primary focus. Our team takes pride in craftsmanship, professionalism, and maintaining outdoor spaces that thrive.
Position Overview
We are seeking experienced gardeners who can work independently, take pride in their work, and contribute to a high-performing team.
This role is best suited for individuals who already understand residential garden care and want to continue developing their skills in a professional environment.
You will be working in established residential gardens where attention to detail, plant knowledge, and professionalism matter.
Responsibilities
🌱 Perform professional garden maintenance including pruning, planting, weeding, edging, mulching, and seasonal care
🌿 Identify, assess, and care for plants suited to Calgary’s climate
🌾 Mowing and trimming may be required as part of full property maintenance, but is not the primary focus of the role.
🛠 Operate and maintain professional-grade equipment including:
• Gas and battery backpack blowers
• Gas mowers
• High-end Battery line trimmers
• High-end Battery hedge trimmers
🚐 Meet at the first job site or designated meeting area and travel with the crew in a company vehicle for the remainder of the day
📅 Maintain schedule discipline and high workmanship standards
🌦 Work outdoors in varied weather conditions
🏋️ Perform physically demanding work including kneeling, bending, lifting, and extended periods on your feet
Requirements
✔ Minimum 2 years of residential landscape gardening experience
✔ Strong plant knowledge relevant to Calgary growing conditions
✔ Comfortable operating gas-powered landscaping equipment as required
✔ Must have a smartphone with data for scheduling and time tracking
✔ Reliable transportation to reach the first job site or meeting location
✔ Strong attention to detail and pride in quality work
✔ Professional communication and reliability
✔ Able to work long, physical days during peak season
📚 The following education is highly valued (not required):
• Master Gardener certification
• Landscape Journeyman
• Horticultural diploma or degree
